SnowPage on Ice!

December 01, 2014
The Making of The Peninsula Sky Rink SnowPage
The Peninsula Hotels’ lovable holiday ambassador, the SnowPage, is inspired by the iconic Peninsula pageboy, with a light-hearted seasonal twist. Created in 2013, this seasonal mascot can be spotted at The Peninsula Chicago in various restaurants, on festive offers and as a prominent staple of The Peninsula Sky Rink.

Artisans and craftsmen carefully constructed the outdoor SnowPage from durable materials to withstand the colder months in Chicago on The Terrace. Standing almost 5 feet tall, the arms stretch nearly 6 feet wide with the bespoke Peninsula pageboy hat placed on his head. The SnowPage’s body is made of a durable vinyl and hand-sewn for stability during sleet, snow and frigid temperatures.

The Sky Rink SnowPage stands vigil near The Peninsula Sky Rink for skaters to enjoy. It has quickly become a favorite photo opportunity for children and adults alike especially for The Peninsula Hotels' #SnowPage social media campaign to benefit Make-A-Wish in December 2014.

Other visitors to The Peninsula Sky Rink have included Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, Benny the Bull of the Chicago Bulls, Tommy Hawk of the Chicago Blackhawks and more for the media preview event on The Terrace to kick off festivities for the 2013 and 2014 BMO Harris Bank Magnificent Mile Lights Festival. READ MORE>

Every season, The Peninsula Chicago is in the holiday spirit with many inspired Spa and dining offers for Christmas, New Year and beyond. The Peninsula Sky Rink is open for the 2014-2015 season from Thanksgiving through 1 March, 2015.
